Frequently Asked Questions
Your questions,
answered.
Where are you located?
+
We're at 3A Claude Street, Shepparton — just head down the long driveway, past the front house, and turn left. You'll find us through the glass sliding doors.
It's a little tucked away, which is exactly the point. Once you find us, it feels like stepping into your own private space — which is what we've always wanted it to feel like.
How do I book an appointment?
+
All bookings are made online through our booking system — you can find the link in our Instagram bio, on our website, or via the QR code on our business cards.
Choose your service, pick a time that works for you, and pay your deposit to lock it in. If you're not sure which service is right for you, book a free consultation and we'll help you figure it out from there.
Do you require a deposit?
+
Yes — we take a 50% deposit at the time of booking to secure your appointment.
This protects everyone's time, including yours. It means we hold that spot specifically for you, and it means our team is fully prepared and ready when you arrive. The remaining balance is taken at the end of your appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
+
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Life happens — we completely understand — we just ask that you let us know as early as possible so we can offer that time to another client.
Cancellations made within 24 hours will result in a loss of your booking deposit. If you don't show up without any notice, a 100% no-show fee will be applied. We know that's firm, but our team's time is their livelihood — and we take that seriously.
What payment methods do you accept?
+
We accept cash, EFTPOS, all major credit cards, and Afterpay. Whatever works best for you.
What if I'm running late?
+
Please message us as soon as you know — we'll always do our best to work with you. If you're a few minutes behind, we'll make it work where we can.
If you're more than 15 minutes late, we may need to reschedule your appointment and your deposit will be forfeited. This isn't about being strict — it's about being fair to the client booked in after you, who deserves their full time too.
Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?
+
We kindly ask that clients come alone to their appointments. Our space is designed to feel private, calm, and completely yours for the duration of your visit — and that's harder to deliver with additional guests in the room.
If you have specific needs or circumstances, just reach out before your appointment and we'll do our best to accommodate you.
How long do lash extensions last?
+
With proper aftercare, lash extensions last 4–6 weeks — but to keep them looking full and intentional, we recommend coming back for a refill every 2–3 weeks.
Think of it like a haircut — the shape and fullness hold best when they're maintained. Your technician will advise the right refill window for your lash type and lifestyle at your appointment.
Will extensions damage my natural lashes?
+
Applied correctly by a qualified technician, lash extensions should never damage your natural lashes. The key is in the detail — choosing the right length, curl, and weight for each individual lash.
At NICD, we take lash health seriously. We map every set specifically to your eye shape and natural lash condition, and we'll always tell you honestly if something isn't right for your lashes — even if it's what you asked for.
What's the difference between classic and volume lashes?
+
Classic lashes use one extension per natural lash. The result is defined, natural, and polished — perfect if you want lashes that look intentional but not obvious. Great for a "your lashes but better" effect.
Volume lashes use multiple ultra-fine extensions per natural lash, creating a fuller, fluffier result. Perfect if you want more drama, more density, or if your natural lashes are on the finer side.
Not sure which one is right for you? Book a free consultation and we'll assess your natural lashes and talk through exactly what will suit your eye shape and lifestyle.
Can I wear mascara with extensions?
+
We'd recommend skipping it. Mascara — especially waterproof formulas — breaks down the adhesive bond and causes premature shedding. Most of our clients find they don't need it anyway once they have a full set on.
To keep your lashes clean, fluffy, and lasting as long as possible, our NICD Collective Lash Cleanser is all you need. It's gentle, effective, and safe for extensions.
How should I care for my lash extensions?
+
We use a bonder at the end of every service, which means you can get your lashes wet straight away — no waiting around.
To get the most out of your set, we recommend:
You'll receive a full aftercare card at your appointment. Keep it — it's worth a read.
What are LED lash extensions and how are they different?
+
LED lash extensions use a light-cured adhesive that sets in seconds — rather than the hours traditional lash glue needs to fully bond. A small LED light is used during application to cure the adhesive instantly, creating a stronger, more flexible bond from the moment your appointment ends.
The result looks just as beautiful as traditional extensions — the difference is almost entirely in how they perform for you day-to-day.
What are the benefits of LED lashes over traditional extensions?
+
LED lashes are a genuine upgrade — here's what that actually means for you:
Are LED lashes right for me?
+
Honestly — yes, for most people. LED lashes suit all clients and all lash types. They're particularly worth considering if you:
Not sure which extension type is right for you? Book a free consultation and we'll talk through your lifestyle, lash health, and what will genuinely work best for you.
Is there anything different I need to do to look after LED lashes?
+
Not a thing. The aftercare for LED lashes is exactly the same as traditional extensions — clean them daily, brush gently, avoid rubbing, and come back for your refill within the recommended window.
The only difference is you get better results for the same effort. Which, honestly, is the whole point.
What is a Korean Lash Lift and how is it different?
+
A Korean Lash Lift gently curls and lifts your natural lashes from the root — no extensions, no added length, just your own lashes looking their absolute best. We include a hybrid dye to add depth and definition, so you get a darker, more lifted result that still looks completely natural.
The Korean technique differs from a standard lift in the way the curl is mapped and set. Rather than a uniform curl, it works with the natural growth direction of each lash to create a lifted look that's more tailored — and tends to last noticeably longer.
How long does a lash lift last?
+
Results last up to 8 weeks, depending on your natural lash cycle and how well you maintain them at home. Most clients find they're back every 6–8 weeks to keep things looking fresh.
Can I wear mascara after a lash lift?
+
Yes — but most of our clients don't bother. Once you've had the lift and dye, your lashes look darker, longer, and lifted without anything on them. Many clients tell us it's the first time in years they've gone mascara-free and loved it.
If you do want to wear mascara, just wait at least 24 hours after your appointment before applying it.
Is a lash lift safe for sensitive eyes?
+
Yes. We use gentle, high-quality Korean formulations that are specifically designed with lash health and sensitive clients in mind. If you have a history of reactions or particularly sensitive eyes, just let us know when you book — we'll make note of it and take extra care.
What is brow lamination?
+
Brow lamination smooths, sets, and lifts your brow hairs into a fuller, more defined shape — giving you that brushed-up, polished look that holds all day without any product.
It's one of our most popular services for a reason. If your brows are unruly, sparse in patches, or just never sit the way you want them to, lamination is usually the answer.
What should I expect at my first brow appointment?
+
First time brow clients — especially those nervous about over-shaping — are in the right hands here. We start every appointment with a proper consultation, looking at your face shape, natural brow growth, and what you'd like to achieve.
We'll always talk you through what we're planning before we do anything. If the shape we recommend differs from what you asked for, we'll explain exactly why — and in our experience, clients trust us once they see the result.
Elle has built her entire reputation on brows. Her clients come back for years and send their most trusted people to her. You're in good hands.
How long do brow results last?
+
Laminations last up to 8 weeks. Hybrid dye lasts around 6–10 days on the skin and several weeks on the brow hairs themselves — so the colour in your hairs outlasts what you see on the skin.
We recommend coming back every 8–10 weeks to maintain your results without overprocessing the brow hairs.
Can I get my brows wet after lamination?
+
For the first 24 hours after your appointment, avoid water, steam, and makeup around the brow area. After that, you're completely fine.
This window gives the lamination time to fully set so your results last as long as possible. It's one day of being careful for up to 8 weeks of great brows — well worth it.
How should I prepare for my spray tan?
+
A little preparation makes a big difference to how your tan develops and how long it lasts. Here's what we recommend:
We'll give you full instructions at your appointment too — so don't stress if you're new to this.
How long does a spray tan last?
+
Typically 7–10 days, depending on your skin type and how well you look after it. The biggest things that extend a tan are moisturising daily with a gentle, hydrating product and avoiding long, hot showers.
Dry skin fades faster — so keep it hydrated and your tan will fade evenly and last longer.
When can I shower after my tan?
+
Wait at least 1–4 hours before your first rinse — or follow the specific guidance your technician gives you on the day, as different solutions have different development times.
For your first shower: skip soap and exfoliants, keep the water just warm (not hot), and rinse until the water runs clear. That's the excess solution coming off — not your tan. Your colour will continue to develop over the next 24 hours.
